Golden Bantam is an old variety (since 1902). It is a medium sweet variety and the cobs are of very good quality if harvested when the milk is ripe. As the conversion of sugar to starch proceeds rapidly after being picked they are best consumed within a day of picking. Less sweet than hybrid types.
Direct sow from May until mid June. Sow 3-5cm deep.
Plant 6-10 plants per Square metre..
